About The Event

The festival’s centrepiece is Saturday’s Seafood Market. The Lion’s Park positively hums on market day, with seafood vendors moving their exquisite produce, plucked fresh from the surrounds.

There’ll be stalls for fresh seafood, stalls for food, stalls for workshops, all packed in like… well, sardines. The vibrant marketplace buzzes with live music, kids’ activities, food trucks and a hyperactive program of special events. Don’t forget to bring your empty esky to stock up on some of the best seafood you’ll ever taste.

2022 highlights include a cooking demonstration by Chef Stefano De Pieri who will be cooking Italian dishes with local Sea Urchins and so much more.

There’s no shortage of entertainment for all the small-fry with free face painting, music performances and stories, and festival-favourite, the Seafood Olympics. You can also meet native critters - from frogs to fruit bats, and possums to pythons - and learn about their recovery after the bushfires.
