Whelk-om Dinner

Whelk-om to the Wild Harvest Seafood Festival 2022 (see what we did there?)! This special

dinner celebrates the lesser known and underrated produce harvested from the wilds around

Mallacoota.

Never heard of whelks? That’s ok. We’re here to help you through it. They are a type of sea

snail, and form a motley crew alongside sea urchins, banded morwong and samphire which will

all feature as part of this special dinner.

The menu is thoughtfully curated by renowned chef Stefano De Pieri of A Gondola on the

Murray and chef, and Budawang Elder from the Yuin Nation, Noel Butler. Local wine and beer is

seamlessly matched to the dishes by wine writer, Max Allen.

Indulge in the opening event dinner overlooking the stunning Mallacoota Lake and open your

eyes and tastebuds to an array of undiscovered delicacies.
